Tapada dos Monges Brand 

The brand Tapada dos Monges arises as a tribute to the monks who, in the 12th Century, introduced winemaking to this region. 

Launched in 1992, the Red wine Tapada dos Monges was quite a breakthrough, compared to the other traditional red wines of Vinho Verde, due to balanced acidity and softer tannins. 

 

Tasting notes 

For a distinguished red wine we recommend Tapada dos Monges, a young and fresh Vinho Verde, with intense blackberry and cherry aromas. On the palate it shows matured fruit and lingering finish. It goes well with traditional food. 

Should be served at 10o – 12oC.

2011 – Published in Anibal Coutinho’s Co-po & Alma Guide, Best 365 Wines for 2011; 

2010 – Gold Medal at the Vinhos Verdes competition for the Best Red Wine;
